My name is Shawn Maxim. I've worked as an IT consultant, at major technology companies, and in the public sector. I've worked extensively with mixed systems (Linux, Windows, Mac OS), with a wide variety of server/client configurations and architectures, tested and secured web servers, recovered and hardened compromised systems, and spent many years doing early field failure analysis on new hardware and software as they hit the public.
I currently work at Okta using Security Compliance as a lever to increase overall security. I excel at doing analysis to tease out security gaps and working with vulnerability management. I enjoy working with servers and networks and making them resistant to intruders. I have worked in many different areas of security. I have done research in mobile and various wireless communications and enjoy exploring these areas. I have also explored some of the intricacies of vulnerability assessment and penetration testing.
